Dambai (O/R), May 1, GNA – Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, Member of Parliament (MP) of Krachi East Constituency, is set to distribute a total of 1,900 Mathematical sets, toiletries, and sachets of water to candidates preparing for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Krachi East Municipality.
The initiative forms part of the MP’s continued commitment to supporting education and improving examination preparedness among final-year Junior High School students across the constituency.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Djabab said the items will be distributed to all registered BECE candidates in both public and private schools within the Municipality to ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged during the examination period due to lack of essential materials.
The mathematical sets are intended to assist candidates in tackling Mathematics and technical drawing components of the examination, while the toiletries and sachets of water are expected to promote personal hygiene, comfort, and well-being throughout the examination period.
Speaking ahead of the distribution exercise, the MP reaffirmed his dedication to investing in education as a key pillar of development in the constituency.
He noted that supporting candidates with examination materials has become an important intervention to reduce the burden on parents and guardians while motivating students to excel academically.
The MP urged the candidates to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their studies as they prepare for the examinations, expressing confidence in their ability to achieve excellent results and make the municipality proud.
Some education stakeholders and parents in the municipality have welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful, especially amid the rising cost of educational materials and household expenses.
The distribution exercise is expected to take place ahead of the commencement of the 2026 BECE and will cover schools across all electoral areas in the municipality.
The initiative adds to a series of educational support programmes championed by the MP, aimed at enhancing academic performance and promoting equitable access to educational opportunities in Krachi East.
