Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – The Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Wednesday inaugurated three committees to facilitate mission and evangelism work within the presbytery.
The three committees inaugurated are the Disability Committee under the Department of Church Life and Nature (CLAN), Social Relations and the Church and Society committee, both under the Ecumenical ad Social Relations department
The Reverend Colonel David Adoteye Asare, the Chairperson of the Presbytery, who inaugurated the committees, said social relations formed a vital part of mission and evangelism.
He urged members to respond to the challenges of the time, reiterating that “It is a big ministry, and we should not divorce it from mission and evangelism.”
Rev. Col. Adoteye Asare reminded the Church of its calling to engage society, asking, “How relevant is our church to the times?”
He noted that the Basel missionaries succeeded in Ghana largely because of their ecumenical and social relations ministry and called for deeper collaboration with other missionaries to win more souls for Christ.
Reverend Dr Kwadwo Asamoah, the Chairperson of the Disability Committee, pledged the committee’s commitment to ensuring total inclusion within the Church.
