ICAG inaugurates Students Association Chapter at HTU

Ho, May 27, GNA – The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG), has inaugurated the ICAG Students’ Association Chapter at the Ho Technical University (HTU) as part of efforts to strengthen professional accountancy education and student engagement in tertiary institutions nationwide. 

The inauguration ceremony brought together the President of ICAG, Mr Augustine Addo, Council Members, the Chief Executive Officer of ICAG, management of HTU, faculty, and students. 

Mr Eric Oduro Osae, Chief Executive Officer of ICAG, addressing the gathering, highlighted the benefits of joining the Association, including mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development for students pursuing careers in accountancy. 

He commended the management of HTU, the Dean of the Business School, the Head of the Accounting and Finance Department, and lecturers for their support in establishing the chapter. 

Professor Maxwell Azila-Gbettor, Dean of the Business School at HTU, encouraged students to pursue the accountancy profession with determination and resilience. 

He welcomed the formation of the chapter and urged students to actively participate in the Association to enhance their professional growth and career prospects. 

The chapter was officially inaugurated by Madam Mawushie Dzikunoo, a Council Member and Chairperson of the 2026 Accountants’  Conference Organising Committee, who presented the Association’s constitution to the newly elected executives. 

The executives pledged to build a vibrant and active Association that would serve the interests of students and promote the values and ethics of the accountancy profession. 

With the inauguration of the HTU chapter, the university joins ICAG’s growing network of student associations across tertiary institutions, including the University of Ghana, University of Professional Studies, Accra, University of Cape Coast, and Koforidua Technical University.
