Hohoe (V/R), May 27, GNA – Mr Prosper Kumi, the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has assured the Zongo Community in the municipality of government’s continuous support towards the development of the area.
He said one of the critical projects being pursued was the completion of an ongoing drainage system initiated under the Urban Development Grant (UDG).
Mr Kumi gave the assurance in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) when he joined the Muslim community in Hohoe to celebrate the 2026 Eid-ul-Adha festival.
He stated that government remained committed to completing the drainage project, adding: “We have received clear commitments of government making funds available for us to complete that project.”
Mr Kumi further disclosed that there were plans to construct a mini market for the Zongo Community to complement the 24-hour economy market currently under development.
He emphasized that it was important to remind residents of the Zongo Community that they had not been forgotten in the municipality’s development agenda.
The MCE noted that there was strong collaboration among the Municipal Assembly, the Member of Parliament, and the Ambassador to Benin to drive development in the area.
Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is observed annually by Muslims worldwide to commemorate Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
