Sunyani (Bono), May 28, GNA – Alhaji Imam Baba Seidu, the Bono Regional Chief Imam, has urged Muslims to reconcile and mend broken homes and relationships, as they celebrate the 2026 Eid-Ul-Adha.
He said forgiving one other’s offences attracted Allah’s blessings and prosperity, saying that: “Eid-ul-Adha isn’t only a period of sacrifice and thanksgiving, but a time for forgiveness, unity, compassion and generosity.”
Alhaji Seidu gave the advice when addressing hundreds of Muslims at the Sunyani Jubilee Park to mark the Eid-ul-Adha celebration, describing the event as one of the most significant celebrations on the Islamic calendar.
He said the celebration commemorated sacrifice and obedience to Allah and enjoined the Muslims to share and care for the less privileged in society.
“The day is very important for all Muslims and reminds us to care for one another, especially the needy in society,”, Alhaji Seidu stated, and cautioned Muslims against allowing conflicts, disrespect and selfishness to overshadow the spiritual significance of the celebration.
“Eid isn’t a time for fighting,” he stated, adding that, “If we continue in anger and division, we will not fully benefit from the blessings of the celebration.”
Alhaji Seidu said Eid taught and promoted peace, humility, kindness and sacrifice and urged the Muslims to continue to pray for the nation and the government to sustain the prevailing national peace and social cohesion.
Mr Seid Mubarak, the Member of Parliament (MP for the Sunyani East Constituency, reaffirmed his dedication to support the on-going construction and completion of a befitting central mosque for the Sunyani Muslim community.
