Ghana Boxing Interim Committee announces timetable for GBA elections

Accra, May 11, GNA – The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC) has announced that elections to choose substantive executives for the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) will be held on June 4, 2026. 

The elections would be conducted in line with provisions of the GBA Constitution and the GBIMC’s approved election roadmap. 

Positions to be contested include president, first vice-president, second vice-president, four executive board members and treasurer. 

Nomination forms would be available to prospective candidates from May 14, with submissions closing on May 19, 2026.  

The official list of candidates is expected to be published between May 22 and May 23, 2026. 

A statement by the committee said only members and affiliated associations in good standing, fully registered, licensed and not in arrears would be eligible to vote.  

Accredited delegates must also be duly nominated and submitted to the GBIMC secretariat by May 19, 2026 

The committee added that a three-member elections committee, to be chaired by the Mr Samir Captan, GBIMC Chairman, would be announced in the coming days to oversee the process.  

The committee noted that detailed guidelines and procedures would be provided in an elections modalities kit to accompany the official nomination forms.
