Agona Okitsiw (C/R), May 30, GNA – The Agona East District Chief Imam, Alhaji Ibrahim Jabiru, has reiterated calls on Ministry of Education to post enough Arabic and English teachers to theĀ District, particularly atĀ Mankrong-Nkwanta and AgonaĀ OkitsiwĀ Islamic schools.Ā
According to the District Chief Imam, Arabic Schools in the area lacked teachers, while there were infrastructure deficit and the children were lagging in the curriculum.
Alhaji Jabiru made the call in an interview through the media to mark the Eid-ul-Adha festival at Okitsiw in the Agona East District of the Central region.
He said most Muslim pupils loitered around during school hours due to insufficient teachers with some classrooms empty due to the issue.
He appealed to the Central government and NGOs to build more Arabic Schools in the Agona East District and provide teaching materials to enhance Islamic education.
On unemployment, Jabiru called on the government, private individuals and corporate bodies to set up industries and companies to provide jobs for the youth to reduce the unemployment challenges in the area.
He reiterated calls on the Muslim parents to invest heavily in their Children’s education, saying that education was the utmost legacy they could bequeath to their children.
He further urged parents to counsel their children to avoid the use of hard drugs and other substances that could affect their health in future.
