Sege, July 27, GNA – The Children’s and Redeemers Movement (CRM) of the Divine Healer’s Church, Greater Accra Region ‘B’/Volta, has donated assorted items to the Sege Polyclinic to support healthcare delivery as part of activities marking its week-long 26th anniversary celebration.
The items donated included liquid soap, bar soap, bedspreads, toilet rolls, pillowcases, tissue paper and powdered detergent.
As part of the celebration, about 1,500 children drawn from various branches of the Church participated in a float and street carnival through the principal streets of Sege to climax the anniversary activities.
The children, carrying placards with Bible inscriptions and messages, preached the gospel to residents as they marched with their regional leadership to the Sege Polyclinic, where the items were presented.
Mr Oswald Emmanuel K. Amanartey, Regional Coordinator of the CRM, said participants came from branches and districts including Sogakope, Ada Foah, Kasseh, Koluedor, Anyamam and Ningo.
He said the anniversary celebration served as a platform for nurturing the spiritual growth and leadership potential of the children while building their confidence in sharing the gospel.
“This programme is helping to shape the children into God-fearing, disciplined and well-mannered individuals who will become responsible leaders in future,” he said.
Mr Amanartey explained that the donation formed part of the Movement’s planned social intervention initiatives and was specifically intended to support the children’s ward of the Sege Polyclinic.
He noted that many children who joined the Movement when it was established in the region 26 years ago had grown into successful businesspersons, public servants, entrepreneurs and pastors.
He expressed confidence that the current generation would also benefit from continuous spiritual and moral guidance to become productive members of society.
Madam Faustina Amanorkie Okai, General Secretary of the Region, commended the staff of the Sege Polyclinic for their dedication to duty and urged them to continue providing quality healthcare services to children.
She said the efforts of the health workers had not gone unnoticed by members of the Church and the wider community.
Pastor Kingsford Doetse Kwame Agbashie, Prayer Secretary of the CRM, observed that the growing influence of social media had exposed children to many challenges, making it increasingly difficult to instil Christian values and discipline.
He therefore urged children to remain obedient to their parents, teachers and church leaders to help them develop positive attitudes and good moral character.
Mr Livingston Mensah, a nurse at the Sege Polyclinic, who received the items on behalf of the management of the facility, expressed gratitude to the Church for the gesture.
He encouraged the children to continue to heed the guidance and counsel of their parents, teachers and church leaders to secure a bright future.
