Tema, May 22, GNA — Rev Worlanyo Mensah of the Centre for Greater Impact Africa commended Vivian Farm Police in Tema West for professionalism, reducing crime, and strengthening relations between police and residents.
Rev Mensah said monitoring and evaluation exercises conducted by the centre in the area had revealed significant improvements in community security and social cohesion as a result of the station’s interventions.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he noted that the police had successfully eased tensions between landlords and tenants and had also helped reduce youth involvement in criminal activities.
“We have seen that they have been able to calm down tempers regarding tenancy and landlord issues. We have also realised that youth involvement in crime, cybercrime, and drug-related activities has reduced drastically,” he said.
According to him, robbery incidents in the area had also declined considerably, contributing to a safer environment for residents.
Rev Mensah further stated that beyond enforcing the law, officers at the station had strengthened community relations through regular engagement and corrective measures aimed at promoting human development.
“It is something that we need to praise them for. We must not always wait for the bad before we speak. When there is good work being done, it must also be acknowledged,” he stated.
He specifically commended the station commander, Superintendent Douglas Ampofo, and the Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sylvia Owusu, for what he described as a job well done, and urged other police stations to emulate their example.
