Adidome (V/R), May 8, GNA — The once-abandoned ICT Centre at Adidome in the Central Tongu District is being transformed into a modern Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Hub to support digital skills development among the youth.
Mr. Dodzi Addison Mornyuie, who disclosed this in a statement, said the facility is currently undergoing extensive renovation and upgrading works ahead of its operationalisation in the coming days.
According to him, the refurbished centre will also serve as one of the training centres for the Government’s flagship One Million Coders Programme, aimed at equipping young people with digital and coding skills for employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
He said the initiative forms part of broader efforts to bridge the digital gap and expand access to technology-driven opportunities for residents within the Central Tongu enclave.
Mr. Mornyuie noted that the revival of the ICT Centre would provide a platform for skills training, innovation, and digital empowerment for young people in the district and neighbouring communities.
He explained that for years the facility had remained largely inactive and underutilised, denying many young people access to ICT training and digital learning opportunities.
He expressed optimism that the transformation of the centre into a functional ICT Hub would help nurture local talent and position the area to benefit from the growing digital economy.
The One Million Coders Programme is a government initiative designed to train young people in coding, software development, and other digital competencies to enhance employability and technological innovation across the country.
