Ho, July 21, GNA – The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) will celebrate its National Youth Week from August 1 to 9, 2026.
The celebration will be on the theme “Godly and Clean Generation – Building the Church.”
The theme is based on Deuteronomy 23: 13 -14, I Timothy 4: 12 and 8 Corinthians 3: 9.
This was in a letter addressed to all Presbytery Moderators of the Church and was sighted by the Ghana News Agency in Ho.
The letter was signed by Reverend Dr Lawson Kwaku Dzanku, Clerk of the General Assembly of the Church.
The letter asked the Moderators to disseminate information on the celebration to all congregations of the Church in their Presbyteries.
It said the theme for the celebration was grounded on two biblical examples.
The letter named them as Nehemiah, who it said refused to descend the wall until Jerusalem was rebuilt and Jesus Christ who at 12 years of age declared that “I must do my Father’s business.”
It stated that both stood for eternal charges to this generation.
The letter entreated the youth of the Church to place the Kingdom of God above their personal comfort and build the Church with their youthful strength and skills.
“It is your covenant commitment to God and His Church to actively participate in all activities earmarked for the celebration.
“No youth should be a spectator but an active participant,” the letter advised.
It also urged all Pastors of the Church to actively champion the planning and celebration of the week in their pastoral districts.
The letter continued that all offerings and thanksgiving proceed during the week would be used to support youth work, programmes and activities at the local, district and Presbytery levels.
The letter intimated that part of the proceeds would also be used at the National Desk Office for National Youth related programmes, Youth Resource Centre and seed fund for a Desk vehicle.
It stated that there would be talks on “kingdom hustle: turning talent into trade”, “faith and finance: building wealth, building Church”, “love undiluted: building Godly relationships in a confused generation” and “creation of care.”
Other activities include a walk with the Moderator/Youth Facilitator, thematic explosions, symposiums, praise and prayer programmes and games.
The celebration will be launched on August 2 and rounded up with a thanksgiving and fundraising service in all congregations of the Church on Sunday, August 9.
