By Frank Kwame Abbor

Avetakpo (V/R), May 8, GNA — A delegation from Avetakpo in the Ho West District has paid a courtesy call on Mr Francis Dusey, District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Ho West District Assembly, to discuss pressing developmental challenges confronting the community.

The delegation, led by Mr Jonas Ali Bedi, Assembly Member for the Agove Electoral Area, met with the DCE at his office on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, to present the concerns of residents and seek support from the Assembly.

Members of the delegation commended the Assembly for ongoing efforts to improve living conditions in the district but noted that several critical needs in the community required urgent attention.

Among the major concerns raised were the lack of access to potable drinking water, inadequate school infrastructure, poor healthcare delivery, and limited electricity coverage in parts of the community.

The delegation also appealed for the construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to improve access to healthcare services for residents.

They further called for the construction of a steel bridge to improve accessibility, especially during the rainy season when movement to and from the area becomes difficult.

The group additionally stressed the urgent need for the posting of more teachers to schools in the community to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.

Responding to the concerns, Mr Dusey thanked the delegation for the visit and for bringing the developmental challenges of the community to the attention of the Assembly.

He stated that the Assembly, in collaboration with Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, Member of Parliament for the Ho West Constituency, was making efforts to address some of the issues raised and improve the welfare of residents.

Mr Dusey urged the people of Avetakpo to continue cooperating with the Assembly, emphasising that development remained a shared responsibility requiring collective effort and collaboration.
