Nkawie (Ash), May 17, GNA – Mr Dominic Bonsu, Assembly Member for the Manso Takorase Electoral Area in the Amansie South District, has donated a 15KVA electricity power plant and GH¢20,000 to Nkawie Senior High Technical School (SHTS) to help address persistent power challenges facing the institution.
The donation is expected to provide an alternative source of electricity during outages, ensuring uninterrupted academic activities and improving security on campus.
Mr Bonsu explained that the GH¢20,000 cash was to support the purchase of fuel and facilitate the smooth operation and maintenance of the power plant,
Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony, Mr Bonsu, an alumnus who completed the school in 2011, said the gesture was part of efforts to give back to his alma mater in appreciation of the role it played in shaping his life.
He emphasised that educational development should not be left to government alone and called on old students, philanthropists, and other stakeholders to support schools in overcoming their challenges.
Mr Bonsu assured management of his continuous support and urged them to contact him whenever the machine developed any faults, reaffirming his commitment to maintenance and repair works.
As part of his efforts to improve teaching and learning, he also pledged to supply dual desks to help address the inadequate furniture situation in the school.

He added that he had also assisted in supporting mosques, financed the construction of street footbridges, and undertaken social intervention initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods in several communities.
