Accra, April 8, GNA – The Ghana Police Service has arrested Prophet William Gyimah for allegedly issuing death threats against Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang in a viral video.
The suspect, 49, General Overseer of Elohim International Ministry, was arrested on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Kasoa in the Central Region during a targeted operation.
A Police brief said the arrest was carried out by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) following the interception of a viral video on social media platforms, including TikTok, in which the suspect allegedly issued the threat.
Prophet Gyimah has been handed over to the Special Investigations Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department for further investigations.
“The Police Administration wishes to strongly caution the public and media houses against using their platforms to foment trouble or disseminate content that threatens the peace and security of the State,” the brief said.
