Prampram, April 18, GNA – The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NiPDA) has held its First Quarter Town Hall Meeting to review its community development plans and outline strategies for the coming months.
The meeting provided a platform for the assembly and stakeholders to assess activities undertaken in the previous quarter while planning subsequent development initiatives within the district.
Mr Raphael Uriel Nartey, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for NiPDA, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that, the meeting formed part of the Assembly’s accountability process to the public.
Mr Nartey explained that the engagement was aimed at updating stakeholders on projects executed, revenue mobilised, and overall development within the district during the first quarter.
He noted that the Assembly also used the forum to educate stakeholders on the importance of revenue mobilisation, stressing that internally generated funds remained critical to local development.
He acknowledged that revenue collection continued to pose challenges but expressed optimism that ongoing public education would encourage compliance.

The DCE disclosed that the assembly exceeded its budget targets for the first quarter and had successfully completed a number of projects across communities, adding that efforts were underway to expand development initiatives throughout the district.
He appealed to residents to support the assembly’s efforts and actively participate in development processes to sustain progress.
Madam Abigail Agbozo, Ningo-Prampram District Planning Officer, highlighted some achievements, including the construction of a three-unit classroom block at New Ningo D/A Basic ‘C’ and the ongoing construction of a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Someh.
Madam Agbozo said the construction of a two-unit kindergarten block at Prampram D/A Basic School had helped ease congestion in classrooms.
She stated that the Assembly organised a Best Teacher Award Scheme last year to motivate educators and improve learning outcomes in the district.
She added that NIPDA continued to empower the youth through apprenticeship programmes, skills training, and sensitisation on their rights to reduce vulnerability.
Other interventions, she said, included the installation of streetlights, road safety education, and community clean-up exercises.
She assured that the assembly would equip the CHPS compound upon completion to enhance healthcare delivery and implement additional projects to accelerate development in the district.
