MP breaks ground for construction of maternity block at Duayaw Nkwanta Health Center

Duayaw-Nkwanta, (Ahafo), April 03, GNA – Dr Gideon Boako, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tano North constituency in the Ahafo Region has performed ground breaking ceremony construction of an ultra-modern maternity block for the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Center. 
 
The project has antenatal wards, a theater, general ward, records office, a laboratory, storage rooms, nurses’ changing rooms as well as delivery rooms and patients’ examination rooms and washrooms. 
 
Dr Boako said he was funding the construction project to improve deliveries and to prevent maternal deaths. 
 
Speaking at a ceremony at Duayaw-Nkwanta, the Tano North Municipal capital, Dr Boako said accessing primary health care should not be a problem in the area. 
 
He pledged his dedication to ensure that quality healthcare delivery was brought to the doorstep of the constituents. 
 
Nana Boakye Bonsu, the Acting President of the Duayaw-Nkwanta Traditional Council commended the MP, assuring that the council would also monitor the execution of the project. 
 
Mr Yaw Owusu, in-charge of Facility at the Duayaw-Nkwanta Health Center, also thanked the MP, saying that the Center needed the maternity block to improve health outcomes. 
 
He expressed concern about inadequate hospital beds and called for the expansion of the health center to respond to the growing health demand needs of the people.
