Koforidua, April 20, GNA – The Koforidua Second Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints has held its annual ward conference on the theme, “Ministering: Greater Love.”
The event served as a spiritual call for members to move from theoretical to practical service.
Addressing the congregation, President Desmond Osei Anom, Koforidua Ghana Stake President, said ministering represented the highest expression of love in action.
“Love is not just a word of mouth; love is a word of action,” he said.
He explained that true ministering went beyond religious formality and focused on meeting both the spiritual and temporal needs of others.
President Anom highlighted the importance of human connection, noting that people facing life’s challenges often needed support rather than doctrinal instruction.
“Often what people need is not only the sermon, but a good conversation that will encourage them,” he remarked.
The conference also provided an opportunity for self‑reflection, as the Stake President identified disobedience and distraction as key barriers to spiritual progress.
He encouraged members to “return to the past,” a symbolic call to rediscover their original devotion and true spiritual purpose.
Mr Anom reminded congregants that divine blessings were linked to obedience, citing the scriptural principle that the Lord was bound to fulfil His promises only when His commandments were obeyed.
He therefore urged members to nurture a culture of fellowship, stressing that meaningful spiritual transformation within the community must begin with self‑love and extend to love for others.
“Service is nothing more than expressing God’s love by extending a helping hand and fellowship to those around us,” he said.
The conference ended with a renewed commitment from members to act as agents of God’s care, ensuring that all individuals feel valued, comforted and supported.
