Keta (V/R), April 22, GNA — Keta Senior High Technical School (KETASCO) in the Volta Region is set to witness a sod-cutting ceremony to boost infrastructure development in the school.

The ceremony is expected to mark the commencement of major infrastructure projects at the school, as well as create a conducive teaching and learning environment for both teachers and students to improve academic performance, among other benefits.

Mr Wonder Setsoafia Deynu, Keta Constituency National Democratic Congress (NDC) Deputy Communication Officer, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, disclosed that the sod-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 1000 hours at the premises of KETASCO.

“The ceremony is expected to be graced by prominent dignitaries, including Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister; Mr Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey, Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta; and Mr Wisdom Seade, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, as well as assembly members and other stakeholders,” he said.

Mr Deynu noted that the projects to be undertaken include a multipurpose assembly hall, a dining hall with a kitchen, a two-storey science laboratory with equipment, a three-storey 18-unit classroom block, and a steel bridge, all aimed at enhancing the educational experience of students at Keta Senior High Technical School.

He extended sincere gratitude to Mr Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzra and Mr Paul Adjei, the Board Chairman and Administrator of GETFund respectively, as well as other stakeholders for their contributions and support in making the projects possible.

“The sod-cutting ceremony will mark a significant milestone in the school’s history, and our community is eager to see the transformation the projects will bring. This infrastructure development will not only improve the learning environment but also contribute to the overall growth and development of Keta,” he stated.

Mr Deynu said the people of Keta were encouraged to come out in their numbers to support the event and be part of the important ceremony that would advance education and infrastructure development in the area.

He emphasised that the construction of the projects is also expected to create jobs for the youth and stimulate economic growth in the community, adding that many were confident the projects would be completed to the highest standards and benefit both students and the community as a whole.

Mr Seth Dzilanyo Azah, a resident of Dzelukope, a suburb of Keta, told the GNA that the event would be a testament to the government’s commitment to improving education in the country, noting that the infrastructure developments at Keta Senior High Technical School were a step in the right direction towards achieving those goals.

He said the community was looking forward to the completion of the projects, which would provide a better learning environment for students and contribute to the development of the area and surrounding communities.

He added that the sod-cutting ceremony would be a celebration of progress and a testament to the power of collaboration and partnership between government and stakeholders in achieving development in communities across the region.
