Sunyani, June 22, GNA – Mr Ransford Antwi, Chief Executive Officer of the Sunyani-based Suncity Group of Companies, has urged families to encourage their children to acquire employable skills in addition to their academic pursuits.

He said skills training offered enormous benefits and advised students to go beyond their books to acquire practical skills that would propel them to greater heights and enable them to contribute positively to their communities.

Mr Antwi gave the advice at a special awards ceremony organised by the Sunyani East District of the Church of Pentecost as part of its schools’ outreach ministry.

The ceremony recognised and honoured deserving schoolchildren who participated in an inter-schools quiz competition organised for basic schools in the Sunyani Municipality.

Mr Antwi, also an Independent Parliamentary Candidate in the Sunyani East constituency in Election 2024 and the guest speaker, also advised the children to remain truthful and honest at all times.

He reminded them that they were the future leaders of the nation and urged them to be disciplined, law-abiding, respectful and patriotic.

Mr Antwi congratulated the award winners and encouraged them, as well as other students, to remain studious and justify the investment made by the Government and their families in their education.

He said quality education remained the surest legacy parents and the Government could bequeath to them.

Mr Antwi also entreated the students to shun bad company and unhealthy behaviours that could truncate their education and undermine their future.

The Church later presented special prizes, including medals and trophies, to the awardees.
