Dormaa Central Assembly, MP to advance holistic development – MCE

Dormaa-Ahenkro (Bono), April 8, GNA – Mr Dominic Adomah Ameyaw, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive says the Assembly is working harmoniously with the Member of Parliament (MP) to advance the holistic development of the municipality. 
 
He lauded the support and cooperation of Mr John Kwame Adu Jack, the MP for Dormaa Central, pledging to ensure the judicious use of resources for development purposes. 
 
He appealed to the people to maintain their trust in the Assembly assuring transparency and accountability in the governance process. 
 
Mr Ameyaw made this known in a speech for on his behalf by Mr Sevlo Adjei, the Dormaa Central Municipal Coordinating Director at the presentation of some cheques valued at GHC54,000 from the MP’s share of the District Assembly Common Fund to support the education of 33 students in the area. 
 
He encouraged the beneficiaries to study hard and to justify the investment being made in them, saying that the selection was supervised by the assembly. 
 
Mr Phillip Adom Danso, the Acting Dormaa Municipal Director of Education emphasised that education “is important to unearth the talents and skills the students have been endowed with” and urged the contributions of stakeholders in promoting quality education. 
 
“It’s the reason the MP has shown high and deep commitment to assist the education of the students, and youth empowerment”, he stated, and commended the MP for immeasurable contributions towards the growth and development of education in the area. 
 
Mr Danso called for support for the conduct of the mock examination to adequately prepare the candidates of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the municipality. 
 
He said stringent measures had been put in place to deal comprehensively with examination malpractices among the candidates. 
 
Mr Yaw Nsiah, a Representative of the MP noted that the development of human resource base and infrastructure remained essential for the development of the area. 
 
He said the MP had prioritized quality education and infrastructure development, saying that the selection of the beneficiaries was largely based on merit, devoid of partisan political considerations. 
 
Mr Nsiah said the MP remained committed to supporting brilliant but needy students in the area, saying that the MP’s assistance would be done annually. 
 
He said three of the beneficiaries were pursuing Master’s Degree programmes while the rest were admitted to teacher and nursing training and other tertiary institutions. 
 
Misaa Afia Alamata, a beneficiary, expressed appreciation to the MP for assistance that would lessen the financial challenges facing the students.
