Accra, Sept. 7, GNA – The Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) has been upgraded with an admission portal to allow parents and guardians to enroll students and download admission forms without travelling to the schools.
Dr Clement Apaak, the Deputy Minister of Education, speaking at a press briefing on Monday on this year’s school placement, said the new feature was intended to reduce the financial and logistical burden on families during the admission process.
Under the upgraded system, he said parents and guardians could complete relevant admission and enrollment processes remotely rather than travelling to individual schools.
The Minister said the change would reduce transportation-related expenses for parents, guardians and students, warning heads of schools not to admit or enroll students outside the CSSPS.
He said the Ministry would enforce the directive and impose appropriate sanctions against heads who violated the directives
Dr Apaak said unauthorised admissions could create discrepancies in student data and subsequently cause challenges with disbursements to schools.
He urged parents and candidates to use official channels for placement-related assistance and avoid unauthorised intermediaries.
The upgraded system forms part of measures accompanying the release of the 2026 CSSPS results.
A total of 527,932 candidates has, so far, been successfully placed out of 604,567 candidates who qualified for placement in senior high schools, senior high technical schools, and technical and vocational institutions.
The figure represents approximately 87.3 per cent of the 604,567 candidates who qualified for placement following the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Of the total number placed, 276,521 are females, while 251,411 are males.
