Tema, April 6, GNA – Pastor Courage Atittey, a guest pastor at the Priesthood Worship Centre Assemblies of God, Tema Community Six, has urged Christians to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ, emphasising His authority and the completion of His mission on earth.
Delivering a sermon on Resurrection Sunday, Pastor Atittey said Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God, a position of power and authority, following His victory over death and the fulfilment of His divine purpose.
Quoting from Mark 16:1–7 and Hebrews 1:2–5, he explained that the resurrection of Jesus confirmed His divine authority and supremacy.
He noted that the account of the empty tomb in the Gospel of Mark demonstrated Christ’s triumph over death, while the passage in Hebrews affirmed His position as heir over all things.
According to him, the authority of Christ extends to all believers, adding that Christians share in this authority through faith.
He stressed that challenges such as financial difficulties, health issues and spiritual struggles had already been addressed through Christ’s victory.
Pastor Atittey further explained that Jesus’ seating at the right hand of God signified the completion of His redemptive work, which, he said, should give believers confidence, as their faith is founded on what Christ has already accomplished.
He cautioned Christians against relying solely on miracles, urging them to build their faith on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
While acknowledging the role of miracles in the Christian faith, he stressed the importance of knowing and trusting Christ beyond signs and wonders, and encouraged the congregation to remain grounded in Scripture and not be swayed by external manifestations.
