Duasidan, (Bono), Apr. 23, GNA – Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister has expressed satisfaction at progress of work on the execution of Community-based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound and staff accommodation projects at Duasidan in the Dormaa Central Municipality.
He said little over a year ago, the government had constructed two CHPS compounds in the Municipality to bring quality healthcare delivery service to the doorsteps of the rural dwellers.
Mr Akwaboa said this when he extended his two-day working visit to the Dormaa Central municipality to the Duasidan community and visited the project’s site.
He said the government would facilitate the completion of the projects for the Duasidan community members to benefit from the free Primary Health Care programme, explaining that the programme was a comprehensive strategy to make healthcare sustainable.
Mr Akwaboa said the government had procured tricycles and motor bicycles to transport essential medicines and health materials to hard-to-reach communities, nationwide and to bring healthcare to the doorstep of the people.
He noted that despite the Russia and Ukraine as well as the US/Israel and Iran wars which had affected the global economy, manifesting in the rise of petroleum products in the global market, the government had been able to stabilize the prices of commodities by absorbing some taxes on fuel.
Mr Akwaboa gave the assurance that the government remained dedicated to increasing the producer price of cocoa, anytime the price soared on the global market and urged the public to ignore the propagandist tools being adopted by political detractors to make the government unpopular in the eyes of the people.
“Those campaigns are deliberate attempts to dent the image of President John Dramani Mahama’s government”, he stated.
Mr Daniel Konka, the Dormaa Central Municipal Director of Health said the government’s free primary healthcare programme would benefit everybody, regardless of their locations.
He said the construction of the Duasidan CHPS compound, and the staff accommodation would bring quality healthcare delivery to the people, saying that on completion, health workers would be posted to the area.
Mr Konka commended the chiefs and people of the area for providing land for the construction of the projects.
