Accra, April 28, GNA – Black Stars Head Coach Carlos Queiroz has commenced an European tour to monitor some players ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The tour, which started last Sunday, is not only aimed at monitoring Ghanaian players but also strengthening engagement ahead of the tournament.
The Portuguese coach, who was officially unveiled in Accra last week, first spent time in Ghana assessing players of the Black Galaxies before travelling to Europe to continue his work with the senior national team..
He brings vast experience in international football, having previously managed national teams such as Portugal, Iran, Colombia, and Egypt.
As part of his current tour, Queiroz has already met Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew and midfielder Thomas Partey.
He is also expected to hold further discussions with other senior players and team leaders in the coming days.
Beyond meetings, the coach would attend several club matches involving Ghanaian players across Europe.
He is being supported by members of his technical team, who are also actively involved in scouting and monitoring both established players and emerging talents eligible for the national team..
Queiroz would lead Ghana at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which would be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The Black Stars have been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama.
