Takoradi, March 31, GNA – Traders in the Central Business District (CBD) of Takoradi have expressed worry over the low sales of their goods ahead of this year’s Easter celebration.
Some of them who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said business had not been good as they expected particularly as the Easter season approached.
Madam Sakyiwaa Ampofo, who sells eggs, lamented that this year’s pre-Easter sales had been slow and not encouraging.
She said: “This week is Easter, but nothing shows we are almost in that season because we don’t see any high patronage of products as people usually did some years back.”
She, however, expressed the hope that things would turn around for them during the festive period.
Madam Esi Kuranchie, who sells assorted food items, also expressed similar sentiments, saying, “Market is not good at all, because we are not seeing anything, but we hope for the best.”
Mr Philip Bekoe, a shoe seller, asked the government to put in place good economic policies to help ease the financial burden on customers and increase their purchasing power.
