Lambussie (UW/R), March. 26, GNA – A total of 938 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), candidates in the Lambussie District, are writing a ‘special mock’ examination sponsored by Professor Titus Kofi Beyuo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
The exercise, which was conducted in three centres namely; Hamile, Lambussie and Piina, was overseen by facilitators drawn from schools in the district, to ensure transparency and credibility.
The students are writing all the nine subjects, which is expected to adequately prepare them for their final examination on 4th May 2026.
Professor Beyuo told the Ghana News Agency (GNA), that the gesture was aimed at testing the students’ level of preparation for the upcoming BECE and sought to provide them with the necessary boost and encouragement to excel in their exams.
He emphasised that the intervention meant to improve the standard of education in the district and called on parents, teachers and community leaders to actively support students and that “educational success is shared responsibility.”
“All parents, teachers, and community leaders must take collective responsibility to guide and support our children to take their education seriously. Together, with unity and renewed commitment, we can transform the educational fortunes of Lambussie and secure a brighter future for every child in our constituency,” he said.
The initiative reflected the MP’s ongoing commitment to improving educational standards in Lambussie, which underscored the importance of collaboration efforts in shaping the academic future of the district’s youth.
He, therefore advised the candidates to do independent work and obey the rules and regulations governing the exams.
Mr Naawulle Ireneous Basingbie, the Lambussie District Chief Executive (DCE), urged the candidates to take the exams seriously and produce excellent results, to make the district and the country proud.
Mr Basingbie also commended the MP for the initiative, which was the first in the district’s history and would improve quality education in the district.
Mr Bede Baminekang, the Lambussie District Director of Education, said the examination would improve upon last year’s results and commended the MP for the efforts in enhancing performance of the final year students.
He noted that the examination would prepare the candidates ahead of their examination and urged them to put in their best to continue their education to the Senior High School.
Mr Kwao Hilleh Nicholas, who won the district 2025 Best Teacher award supervising the Lambussie centre, noted that the initiative would provide a significant boost in their preparations and improve their chances of achieving outstanding results in the upcoming BECE examination.
Miss Hanebe Basumowiella Rashida, a candidate at Lambussie D/A Junior High School said the examination questions were manageable and expressed hope that they would excel in the main BECE paper.
