Juaso (Ash), March 14, GNA – Mr. Bice Osei-Kuffour, popularly known as Obour and former Managing Director of Ghana Post, has donated bottled water and assorted soft drinks to selected mosques in the Asante-Akim South Municipality to support Muslims observing the holy month of Ramadan.
The gesture was aimed at assisting Muslim faithful during the month-long fasting period, when adherents abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset and gather at sunset to break their fast.
Mosques that benefited from the donation include the Juaso Central Mosque, Juaso Ibn Khatab Mosque, Obogu Mosque, Adomfe Mosque, Ofoase Mosque and Kwahu Praso Mosque.
Mr. Emmanuel Akowuah, an aide to the former Ghana Post Managing Director, presenting the items on behalf of Mr. Osei-Kuffour at the Juaso Ibn Khatab Mosque, said the donation was meant to support the Muslim community during the sacred period and demonstrate solidarity with them.
He noted that Ramadan was a time of spiritual reflection, sacrifice and generosity, and urged Muslims to continue to pray for peace, unity and development in the country.
Mr. Akowuah said Mr. Osei-Kuffour recognised the importance of supporting faith-based communities and believed that acts of kindness during Ramadan helped strengthen communal bonds.
“Obour asked me to convey his warm greetings to the Muslim community and to assure you of his continued support,” he said.
Alhaj Mohammed Kassim, Imam of the Ibn Khatab Mosque, receiving the items on behalf of the congregation, expressed gratitude to Mr. Osei-Kuffour for the kind gesture.
He described the donation as timely, noting that such support was particularly helpful during Ramadan when Muslims gathered in large numbers to break their fast.
Alhaj Kassim prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Mr. Osei Kuffour and his family, asking that he be granted good health, wisdom and success in all his endeavours.
He also assured the donor that the Muslim community would continue to pray for peace, stability and development in the municipality and the country.
