Tamale, March 19, GNA – MTN Ghana has presented assorted food items amongst other packages to the Northern Regional Chief Imam as its support to the Muslim community towards this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.

Items presented included bags of rice, assorted drinks, quantities of bottled water, cooking oil, a ram and a symbolic cheque for GH¢10,000.00 through MobileMoney Limited to support the celebrations.

The gesture formed part of MTN Ghana’s annual support to the Muslim community across four locations namely Accra, Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.

Mr Mohammed Shayawu, Acting Regional Manager, Retail Experience at MTN Ghana, who handed over the items to the representative of the Regional Chief Imam at the Central Mosque in Tamale, said the gesture was to share in the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations with Muslim customers and the broader Muslim community in the Northern Region.

He said the initiative aligned with the company’s vision of delighting customers and making their lives brighter.

He said Ramadan was a period of fasting, prayer and discipline, and expressed hope that the values of self-restraint and devotion cultivated during the holy month would be sustained beyond the period.
