Tema, March 16, GNA — A light aircraft crashed at the Oninku Drive School Park at Tema Community One on Monday afternoon.
The cause of the crash is yet to be established, but the impact led to a fire that burnt the occupants. Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) suspect about three people may have been on board.
As of 1600 hours, personnel of the GNFS and the Ghana Police Service had retrieved two charred bodies from the wreckage.
The incident attracted a large crowd as residents trooped to the scene to catch a glimpse of the wreckage.
Ahmed Abdullia, Assembly Member for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area, said none of the students at the school were hurt.
Meanwhile, a search is ongoing to determine whether more bodies are trapped in the wreckage.
