Dambai (O/R), March 5, GNA-Mr Matthew Nyindam, the Member of Parliament (MP) of Kpandai Constituency, has connected four farming communities to the national grid, marking a significant milestone in the area’s socio-economic development.

The beneficiaries include Bingale, Nakordo, Bassare Akura, and Yapo Akura which can now look forward to improved economic opportunities, enhanced security, and better study conditions for students.

Mr Nyindam expressed his commitment to extending electricity coverage to other communities in the constituency, urging residents to capitalize on the new power supply to boost their economic activities.

“I encourage women to leverage this opportunity to enhance their businesses, whether through refrigeration or operating kiosks,” he stressed, emphasizing the potential for increased revenue and job creation.

The MP’s efforts are expected to have a ripple effect, stimulating local economic growth and improving living standards.

Community leader Mr Elijah Nananbi welcomed the development, recalling the community’s 30-year wait for electricity. “We have endured immense hardship, but we are grateful to our MP,” he added.

He highlighted challenges such as students studying under candlelight.

However, Mr Nananbi appealed to authorities to address pressing needs, including deplorable roads and inadequate healthcare services.

“Our roads are almost impassable, and access to medical care is a life-or-death issue,” he emphasized, urging the government to prioritize these concerns.

The connection is expected to catalyze development in the area, with residents’ hopeful for improved living standards and economic prospects.
