Create an environment where children feel valued and loved — Moderator

By Emmanuel Nyatsikor

Ho, March 12, GNA – Bliss Divine Agbeko, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has called on society to create an environment where children feel valued, loved and supported.

“Let us cherish and nurture our children, guide them in their spiritual journeys and help them grow in faith and love,” he said.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko made the call in a goodwill message to mark the Church’s Children Ministry Week celebration on the theme: “Cleanliness is next to Godliness! Keep clean.”

He described children as precious gifts to parents, the Church and society, urging the public to recognise their potential and the vital roles they play in communities.

He encouraged society to nurture children’s curiosity, inspire their dreams and instil values such as honesty, patriotism, obedience and chastity.

The Moderator also urged parents and the Church to teach children the importance of environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene, noting that such values would help create a society free from garbage around water bodies and communities.

He expressed gratitude to God for the gift of children and urged them to believe in themselves and trust in God’s blessings.

The celebration was launched in all congregations of the Church on March 8 and features activities such as talk shows, symposiums, debates, hymn and prayer sessions, and clean-up exercises.

It will climax with a thanksgiving and fundraising service in all congregations on March 15.
