Accra, March 11, GNA – The 2001-year group of Aggrey Memorial Senior High School will this weekend commission a state-of-the-art ICT Centre as part of activities marking the school’s 86th Anniversary.
The facility, equipped with computers, projector and internet access, is expected to enhance students’ practical computer skills and prepare them for opportunities in the digital age.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Joseph Baffoe, President of the 2001-year group, said the project was conceived as a legacy gift to the school.
“We wanted to give back in a way that will empower students for the future. In this era of Artificial Intelligence, digital literacy is not optional; it is essential,” he noted.
The National President of Aggrey Memorial Old Students Association Global, Dr. Benjamin Otchere-Ankrah said the anniversary would serve as an opportunity for all old students to unite behind a shared vision for the growth and development of the school.
He noted that the strength of the alumni community laid in its collective commitment to give back and support initiatives that would position the school to produce responsible leaders for the nation.

The anniversary celebration on the theme: “Building Good Leaders, Shaping the Future: The Role of Stakeholders,” would feature a grand durbar, mentorship sessions, bonfire, jama and dabor night as well as the annual Speech and Prize-Giving Day.
The event will bring together alumni, current students, and stakeholders to reflect on the school’s achievements and chart a path forward.
Among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion would be representatives from the Ministry of Education, Ghana Education Service, traditional leaders from Cape Coast, members of the school’s board, and notable alumni in public service, academia, and businesses.
Faith leaders from the A.M.E. Zion Church, which founded the school, are also expected to attend.
The Speech and Prize-Giving Day will recognise outstanding students and staff for excellence in academics, discipline, and leadership.
Alumni will also engage current students in mentorship sessions, share experiences, and motivate them to pursue excellence.
