Kete-krachi (O/R), Feb 6, GNA- The chiefs and people of Krachi State, under the leadership of the Krachiwura, Nana Mprah Besemuna III, have commended President John Dramani Mahama for steps taken towards the construction of a bridge over the Oti River, describing it as a transformational project for the enclave.

Speaking in an interview, Convenor of the Krachi Youth Association, Mr Ben McCarthy Ntoso, said the project would significantly enhance economic activities in Krachi East, Krachi Nchumburu and Krachi West, while strengthening trade links between the Oti and Northern Regions.

He said the bridge, which has been on the drawing board for several years, was now moving from promise to implementation, giving residents renewed hope for improved transportation and access to markets, education and healthcare.

Mr Ntoso noted that the visible progress on the ground showed the government’s commitment to addressing the long-standing infrastructural challenges faced by communities along the Oti River.

He urged traditional authorities and opinion leaders to put aside their differences and rally behind the initiative to ensure its smooth execution for the benefit of present and future generations.

He also dismissed calls for the project to be diverted from Dambai, explaining that the proposed location remained strategic and would help open the area, reduce poverty, and promote inclusive development across the enclave.
