Kpassa (O/R), Feb 7, GNA – Mr Isaiah Kudjo Dordoe, the District Chief Executive of Nkwanta North in the Oti Region, has appealed to the Minister of the Interior to urgently provide a patrol vehicle for the District Police Command to enhance security operations in the district.
Mr Dordoe made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency during a nation-wide sanitation exercise in the district, which brought an encouraging participation among the residents, Assembly Members, security service agencies, and staff of the District Assembly.
He emphasized that the police command in the district is currently operating without a vehicle, a situation he described as worrying and a major setback to effective policing.
The DCE also said the situation makes it extremely difficult for them to respond promptly to crime scenes, conduct patrols, and ensure public safety.
The DCE emphasised that the absence of a patrol vehicle has a negative effect on the police’s ability to combat crime effectively, especially in remote communities.
He therefore called on the Interior Minister and other relevant authorities to consider the request as a matter of urgency.
Mr Dordoe commended the police for their support in maintaining law and order during the sanitation exercise.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the residents in the exercise, describing cleanliness as a shared responsibility that contributes to good health and a safer environment.
The monthly sanitation exercise forms part of the government’s efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and improve public health across the country.
