Akropong (E/R), Feb. 16, GNA — The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Royal Temple, Awoshie-Anyah, donated food and essential items worth over GH₵50,000 to the Akropong School for the Blind as part of its anniversary celebration.

The donations included bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, soft drinks, sachet water, toilet rolls, paper hand towels, sanitary pads, liquid soap, washing powder, bars of soap, tomato paste, and tom brown.

Reverend Samuel Awuku-Gyekye, Senior Pastor of the Royal Temple and Regional Overseer for Accra West, noted that running schools for persons with disabilities is demanding, particularly where resources are limited. He emphasised that institutions like the Akropong School for the Blind require consistent support from churches, organisations, and individuals for smooth operations and student welfare.

He explained that the Royal Temple chose to mark its anniversary not only with thanksgiving but also with practical acts of compassion, reflecting the church’s commitment to holistic ministry—preaching the gospel while demonstrating Christ’s love through tangible support.

Reverend Awuku-Gyekye added that the church remains devoted to community impact, spiritual growth, and meaningful outreach initiatives. He recalled that during the church’s 25th anniversary, donations were made to the same school to support its daily operations.

He concluded that the 28th anniversary celebration stands as both a milestone of gratitude to God and a demonstration of compassion to society and the nation.
