Ho (V/R), Feb. 12, GNA – Essential Relief International, in partnership with Boss Energy, has donated assorted medical supplies to the Ho Municipal Health Directorate to support healthcare delivery across health facilities in the municipality.

The items presented included cotton (500g), gauze rolls, giving sets, examination, and surgical gloves, IV cannulas of various sizes, plaster rolls, syringes and needles, malaria test kits, liquid soap, chlorine, bins, and five 200-litre polytanks.

Speaking at the donation ceremony, Mr Alexander Kobla Nutakor, Executive Director of Essential Relief International, said the donation followed a request from the Ho Municipal Health Directorate, prompting the organisation to engage its partner, Boss Energy, to support the initiative.

He noted that government alone could not meet all healthcare needs, adding that statistics continued to show the Volta and Northern Regions as among the most deprived in the country.

Mr Nutakor mentioned previous projects such as prison support initiatives in Winneba and other areas, obstetric fistula interventions in the Northern Region, and an ongoing education project at Dzorkpe in the Volta Region

“Our focus is now on the Volta Region to see how we can complement government efforts. This is just the beginning, and we hope to return with more healthcare projects to support communities in the region,” he added.

“All the items you see here today are the result of a partnership between Essential Relief International and Boss Energy. They are the main sponsors who made this intervention possible to help improve healthcare delivery for the people,” he said.

Mr Nutakor expressed the hope that the donated items would be put to their intended use to enhance quality healthcare delivery.

Mr Stephen Adom, the Ho Municipal Chief Executive, expressed appreciation to Essential Relief International and its partners, describing the donation as a worthy cause that would directly support health workers in their efforts to serve humanity.

“This support goes directly into the hands of our health workers to help save lives, and we are grateful for it,” he said.

Mr Adom indicated that the Assembly would work with relevant stakeholders, including the Member of Parliament, to assess health facilities in the municipality and explore ways of improving infrastructure and service delivery.

Madam Faustina Asante, the Volta Regional Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer, who recievd the items on behalf of the Regional Director, expressed profound gratitude to Essential Relief International and its partners for the donation.

She said the support addressed critical needs and would significantly enhance service delivery across health facilities in the Ho Municipality, ultimately improving access to quality healthcare.

Madam Asante assured the donors that the items would be used judiciously and for their intended purposes, and urged health staff to ensure proper custody, maintenance, and accountability.

She expressed the hope that the gesture would serve as the foundation for a sustained and mutually beneficial partnership.

Madam Perfect Titiati, the Ho Municipal Director of Health Services, expressed joy and gratitude on behalf of the management and staff of the directorate for the timely donation.

She said the medical supplies had come at a critical time when health facilities were facing increasing demand for quality healthcare services, noting that equipment and consumables were essential complements to infrastructure and skilled personnel.

“These supplies will strengthen our capacity to deliver quality healthcare services and improve health outcomes for the people of the Ho Municipality,” she said.
