Tema, Feb. 10, GNA -The Cocoa Processing Company (CPC) has expressed its readiness to celebrate the 2026 National Chocolate Day with Ghanaians, calling on citizens across the country to actively participate in the annual event that promotes the consumption of locally processed cocoa products.

National Chocolate Day, which has been celebrated for the past 21 years, has become an important platform for showcasing Ghana’s premium chocolate, particularly the Golden Tree brand, and encouraging national pride in Ghana’s cocoa value chain.

Nana Agyemang Ansong, the Sales and Marketing Manager of CPC, speaking with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said this year’s celebration would have a strong national character, with activities taking place in all regions of the country to ensure broad participation and inclusiveness.

Mr Ansong noted that CPC, in collaboration with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), would establish visibility points in all regional capitals and selected communities to engage the public and promote cocoa consumption.

As part of the celebration, he encouraged Ghanaians to take part in an interactive social media challenge by taking a bite of Golden Tree chocolate, sharing their experience online, and standing the chance to win exciting awards.

“Consumers will be able to enjoy chocolate in its various forms, including spreads, drinks, chunks, and bites, as part of efforts to promote cocoa-based products as everyday food items,” he said.

He stated that the official launch of the celebration would take place on February 11 at the Nationalism Park in Accra, adding that CPC would organise factory-based activities, including educational tours for school children, to provide practical learning experiences on how cocoa beans are processed into finished chocolate products.

He added that exhibition stands would be mounted at strategic locations such as Accra Mall, Parliament House, the Ministry of Finance, and other public institutions, alongside a strong online presence to expand outreach.

Mr Ansong gave the assurance that sufficient chocolate products had been produced for the celebration and urged all Ghanaians to take part in promoting Ghana’s cocoa to the world.

He indicated that strengthening National Chocolate Day could also help attract international tourists to Ghana, positioning the country as a global destination for cocoa and chocolate celebrations.
