Kadjebi (O/R), Feb 28, GNA – Mr Mathias Komla Bassayi, Assembly Member for Nsuta West Electoral Area in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region, has declared his intention to contest for the Communications Officer position of the New Patriotic Party in Buem Constituency.
Mr Bassayi, who currently serves as Assistant Constituency Secretary of the party, said his decision was driven by the desire to strengthen the NPP’s communication machinery and enhance its visibility across the constituency.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kadjebi, he stated that the party required a proactive, dedicated, and articulate communicator to effectively project its achievements and policies to the electorate.
According to him, effective communication would be crucial in consolidating grassroots’ support and improving the party’s electoral fortunes in the 2028 general elections.
“The party needs someone with experience, commitment, and a good understanding of the political terrain in Buem to properly market our achievements and programmes to the people,” he said.
Mr Bassayi told GNA that his experience as a two-term Assembly Member and Assistant Constituency Secretary had equipped him with in-depth knowledge of party structures, grassroots mobilisation, and community engagement.
He pledged to work closely with constituency executives, polling station officers, and party faithful to ensure a unified communication strategy that would address misinformation and promote the party’s development agenda.
The Assembly Member also emphasised the need for regular stakeholder engagement, media interaction, and the effective use of social media platforms to reach the youth and first-time voters.
He called on delegates and party members to support his ambition when nominations are officially opened, assuring them of transparency, teamwork, and dedication to duty if given the mandate.
Mr Bassayi reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening party unity and working tirelessly to help the NPP retain and increase its votes in the Buem Constituency in the next general elections.
