Adokorpe-Ada, Feb. 18, GNA – The family of Wisdom Tetteh Assem, who was allegedly stabbed to death at Adokorpe in the Ada East District on February 14, has called on the Ghana Police Service to ensure swift justice.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr David Kofi Assem, an uncle of the deceased, urged the Police to intensify efforts to arrest the prime suspect, who remains at large.
Mr Assem also called on the Police to question the owner of the block factory where the suspect reportedly worked to assist in producing him for investigations.
“We will not relent until justice is served,” he said, appealing to the authorities to expedite the process.
He described the deceased as hard-working and respectful, noting that he had recently completed his carpentry apprenticeship.
“Just last week, he told me he would roof my new building. Now he is gone,” he said.
Madam Doris Adede Assem, sister of the deceased, expressed shock and appealed to the public to provide information that could lead to the suspect’s arrest.
Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joseph Atsu Djineku, Ada Divisional Police Commander, told the GNA that one person had been arrested to assist with investigations, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend the main suspect.
He urged residents to resolve disputes peacefully, warning that violent incidents could damage the area’s reputation among visitors and investors.
The incident occurred near Kassar Bar at Adokorpe. According to eyewitness accounts, the deceased was involved in a confrontation with a worker at a nearby block factory over an alleged attempt to urinate within the factory premises.
The misunderstanding reportedly escalated into a fight, and later the suspect allegedly returned with a sharp object and stabbed the deceased multiple times.
He was pronounced dead shortly after the incident, while police investigations are ongoing.
