Nkonsia (Bono), Jan. 15, GNA – Alhaji Seidu Haruna, Member of Parliament (MP) for Wenchi Constituency, has presented 15 packets of roofing sheets for the renovation of the Nkonsia Presbyterian Cluster of Schools in the Bono Region.
The donation follows a heavy downpour on October 21, 2025, which caused extensive damage to properties in the town, ripping roofs off houses, churches, and school buildings, with the beneficiary school being the worst affected.
In addition, the MP donated Basic School Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (B-STEM) equipment, including laptops, calculators, electric circuit sets, and a projector to the school.
Speaking at a brief ceremony at Nkonsia, a farming community, Alhaji Haruna reaffirmed his commitment to addressing emerging challenges in the constituency.
He urged the school authorities to take proper care of the equipment.
The MP expressed optimism that the provision of the equipment would enhance the study of B-STEM subjects and called on teachers in the area to redouble their efforts to improve the academic performance of pupils.
Nana Opoku Asumadu II, Chief of Nkonsia, who received the items on behalf of the school, thanked the MP for the gesture and later handed them over to Mrs Mary Nyarko, Wenchi Municipal Director of Education.
