Kumasi, Jan. 20, GNA – The Calvary Charismatic Centre (CCC) in Kumasi will on Thursday, January 22, host the opening of the “Start Well Conference 2026,” a flagship annual programme designed to equip individuals and leaders with the right mindset and values to begin the year purposefully.

The conference is expected to attract workers, professionals, entrepreneurs and leaders from various sectors across Kumasi and beyond.

A Leadership Summit will form a key part of the programme, focusing on values-driven and accountable leadership as a foundation for national development.

Pastor Joshua Obeng, Resident Pastor of CCC, at a media briefing ahead of the event, underscored the strategic importance of Kumasi to Ghana’s development and the need to intentionally prepare its people at the beginning of each year.

“Kumasi is a major city that plays a crucial role in the development of Ghana. How we start often determines how we finish, and that is why this conference is important for everyone – workers, professionals and leaders alike,” he said.

The main speaker for the conference is Dr Mensa Otabil, Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), whom Pastor Obeng described as one of Ghana’s most respected and sought-after leadership voices.

He said Dr Otabil is widely known for his exceptional wisdom, clarity of thought and deep insight into leadership and nation-building.

The renowned preacher consistently addresses leadership challenges with a strong ethical and Christian foundation, making his message relevant not only to church members but also to national leaders and professionals.

“Dr Mensa Otabil has been graced with the spirit of wisdom. He speaks extensively on leadership, which remains one of the major challenges facing our nation today. His teachings continue to shape mindsets and influence leaders across different sectors,” Pastor Obeng stated.

He further noted that many political leaders and professionals are members of churches, stressing the need for the Church to promote accountability, integrity and responsible leadership.

“The Church must play a role in shaping leaders who serve with integrity. This conference will help reset perspectives on leadership and the Christian way of conducting oneself as a leader,” he added.

Pastor Obeng said the Start Well Conference has been held consistently over the years and has recorded numerous testimonies from participants who attribute their productivity and progress during the year to insights gained from the programme.

He, therefore, invited residents of Kumasi and the public to participate in the 2026 edition, expressing confidence that the conference would empower attendees to start the year on a strong footing and sustain excellence throughout the year.
