Dambai (O/R), Jan 15, GNA – Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has ordered the clearance of overgrown vegetation surrounding the Oti Regional Coordinating Council (ORCC) staff bungalows.

The directive follows a Ghana News Agency (GNA) report highlighting the issue.

A GNA visit on Thursday, January 15, 2026, showed heavy District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) machines creating fire belts around the facilities to prevent potential bushfire.

The Minister’s prompt action has been welcomed by residents and staff of the council, who expressed concerns about the potential fire hazards and security risks posed by the overgrown vegetation.

The clearance exercise is part of efforts to improve the overall appearance and safety of the ORCC staff bungalows.

Again, the clearance of the vegetation is expected to enhance the aesthetic appeal of the area and reduce the risk of bushfires.
