Wa (UW/R), Jan. 07, GNA – The Rt. Reverend Justice Isaac Arhin-Yorke, the Bishop of the Wa-Bolgatanga Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, has urged members of the public to exhibit faith, obedience, and be commitment to peace in 2026 and beyond.
Referencing biblical teaching in the Holy Bible, the Bishop indicated that peace was a virtue Abraham pursued apart from his faith in God, which the public, especially believers of the Gospel of Jesus should exhibit.
Rt. Rev. Arhin-Yorke made the call in a “New Year” message on the theme: “Step Out to 2026 in Faith and Be Peaceable,” to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Wa.
“Peace, we are told, is essential for development. The year 2026 is pregnant with opportunities for our well-being.
We can only tap these opportunities if we condition our minds and pursue those things in an atmosphere of peace,” he indicated.
Rt. Rev. Arhin-Yorke stated that Bawku, for instance, could experience true development if the people in the area embraced peace by laying down their tools and seeking an amicable solution to their differences.
The Bishop also encouraged believers to trust God’s guidance for the years ahead, which he said was shrouded to humans, referencing Deuteronomy 29:29a, which says: “The secret things belong unto the LORD our God”.
He, therefore, emphasised the importance of living with faith like the Biblical patriarch Abraham, who obeyed God’s call to embark on a journey without knowing his destination.
“In 2026, our destiny would depend on the extraordinary faith, obedience and commitment we will bring to bear on the Lord’s work.
With faith, obedience, and commitment, we will accomplish much for the Lord, and the Lord in turn will prove to be our God. God will not leave us…”, he explained.
Rt. Rev. Arhin-Yorke advised the people against hasty decision-making, as that could lead to wrong decisions.
He rather, encouraged them to make choices aligned with God’s will, strengthen their relationship with God, and build trust in God in order to succeed in 2026.
Rt. Rev. Arhin-Yorke prayed for God’s blessings for the people for 2026 and the years ahead as they exemplified Abraham’s faith and obedience in God.
He expressed confidence that with faith, obedience, and peace as guiding principles, 2026 would be a fruitful and fulfilling year for all.
