Dr Bawumia leads NPP presidential primary in Nkwanta North

Kpassa (O/R), Jan. 31, GNA – Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President has obtained the majority of the votes cast in the Nkwanta North Constituency, in the New Patriotic Party’s presidential primary.

There were 662 valid votes out of a total of 667 vote cast, as five votes were rejected.

Dr Bawumia secured a commanding lead with 467 votes, representing the majority of the valid votes cast.

His closest contender, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, obtained 95 votes, followed by Bryan Acheampong with 91 votes.

Mr Osei Adutwum polled seven votes, while Kwabena Agyei Agyepong recorded two votes.

The election was conducted peacefully, marking by high level of discipline among delegates, with Party executives commending the smooth organisation and transparent counting process.

Mr Isaac Bigman, the Constituency Secretary of the party, expressed optimism that the outcome would strengthen unity within the party as it prepared towards the Election 2028.
