Accra, Jan. 21, GNA – The Confederation of African Football’s Technical Study Group (TSG) on Wednesday released its Team of the Tournament for the just ended Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco.
Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who conceded only twice in seven matches, is in the goal post for his stellar performance in the tournament.
He is joined by compatriots Achraf Hakimi, Noussair Mazraoui and Brahim Díaz, the tournament’s top scorer.
Champions Senegal also had four players in the Best XI. Defender Moussa Niakhaté, midfielders Pape Gueye and Idrissa Gueye, and player of the tournament Sadio Mane were all chosen after leading their country to a second continental title.
Nigeria, third-place finishers, had three players in the team including defender Calvin Bassey, winger Ademola Lookman and striker Victor Osimhen.
CAF said the team was chosen after a comprehensive technical review combining remote and onsite analysis, live data platforms, multiangle video and specialist video assessment.
