Kumasi Jan. 31, GNA – Mr Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman ‘Wontumi’, Ashanti regional chairman of the NPP, has express happiness in the ongoing presidential primaries in the Ashanti region.
He said the comportment of delegates, agents, security officers, and other key officers in the elections had helped to ensure a peaceful atmosphere in all the centres he had visited.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, after visiting the Asokwa constituency polling centre in Kumasi, he said all the party members would rally behind any candidate who would win the elections.
He said peace and unity were crucial for the party to win in the 2028 general elections and called on party members to commit themselves towards unity at all levels.
A total of 972 delegates are expected to cast their ballots in the Asokwa constituency.
As at 9 am, when the Ghana News Agency visited the centre, 200 delegates had cast their votes.
There was a calm atmosphere, while the security presence was very heavy.
Madam Rosemary Agyeiwaa Twumasi, the Electoral Officer, told the GNA that there had not been any problem so far.
