Anloga (V/R), Jan. 24, GNA – The Global Chapter of the Anlo Senior High School Old Students Association (ANSSOSA-GLOBAL) has donated 150 mono desks to their alma mater to help ease infrastructural and logistical pressures caused by high student enrolment.

The donation, valued at approximately GHS 60,000, was led by Mr Gabriel Agbanyo and Reverend Selorm Deyegbe, members of the Electoral Committee Board of ANSSOSA, along with other executives, on Friday afternoon.

According to Mr Agbanyo, the presentation is part of a deliberate effort by alumni to support ANSECO amid rising enrolment and the resulting strain on classroom furniture and learning facilities. He noted that the desks would improve seating arrangements, enhance classroom comfort, and create a more conducive teaching and learning environment.

Receiving the items on behalf of the school, Headmaster Mr Newman Dzieadzorve expressed profound gratitude to ANSSOSA-GLOBAL, describing the donation as timely and impactful.

“This support could not have come at a better time. Our increased enrolment under the Free SHS policy has placed immense strain on our infrastructure. These mono desks will

immediately improve classroom conditions and enhance effective teaching and learning,” he said.

Reverend Selorm Deyegbe reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the continuous development of ANSECO and the welfare of its students.

“As old students, we recognise the challenges schools face due to growing student populations, particularly in infrastructure and logistics. This donation is our contribution to ensuring students learn in a dignified and supportive environment, and we remain committed to doing more whenever the need arises,” he stated.

Beyond the desk donation, the team inspected ongoing projects, including the proposed site for a female washroom facility spearheaded by the ANSSOSA-2011 Year Group. The initiative aims to promote hygiene, privacy, and dignity while contributing to a healthier and more inclusive school environment.

During interactions with management, staff, and students, the alumni pledged to mobilise additional support toward the shared goal of making ANSECO one of the leading senior high schools in the Volta Region.

Anlo Senior High School remains a prestigious second-cycle institution, recognised for strong academic performance and notable co-curricular achievements. With continued collaboration between alumni, school authorities, and stakeholders, the school is set to benefit not only from infrastructural improvements but also from resources that further support quality education.
