Adaklu Abuadi (V/R), Jan 24 GNA – A state of the art office complex was commissioned on Friday for the Adaklu Traditional Council.
The building, which cost GHS900,000, was funded by Mr. Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister for Roads and Highways with his share of the MP’s Common Fund.
It was jointly commissioned by Mr Agbodza, Mr James Gunu, Volta Regional Minister, Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and Togbe Gbogbi Atsa V, President of the Adaklu Traditional Council and Paramount Chief of Adaklu.


Mr Agbodza also provided furniture and other office equipment worth GHS600,000 from his own resources.
Mr Agbodza, who is also Member of Parliament for Adaklu speaking at the ceremony, appealed to the chiefs to allocate an office for land regulatory in the edifice.
He bemoaned the selling of land on freehold in the area and advised the chiefs to regulate the sale of land in the area, adding “the sale of all lands must be well documented.”
Mr Agbodza told the people that President John Dramani Mahama prioritized the development of the country and that was demonstrated by the reset agenda and the big push.
He stated that the Volta region and Adaklu would have their share of Roads under the “big push” and mentioned the Ho – Aflao and Ho – Atimpoku Roads which he said would be completed in eighteen months.
The Minister continued that the Adaklu Helekpe – Adaklu Dzakpo – Adaklu Kodzobi, Adaklu Tsriefe – Adaklu Torda and Adaklu Waya – Mafi Kumase Roads were awarded on contract.
He appealed to the chiefs to support the contractors to do a quality job.
Mr Agbodza assured that the infrastructure deficit of the Gbekor Senior High School would soon be solved and that the school and Adaklu Senior High School at Adaklu Waya would be provided with a school bus.


Mr Gunu assured that the government would continue collaborating with chiefs to bring the needed development to the country.
He praised Mr. Agbodza for providing a decent office for the chiefs and appealed to them to use the facility to deliberate not only on issues affecting Adaklu but also national issues.
Togbe Gbogbi praised President Mahama for the reset agenda and appealed to his colleagues to give the President their maximum support to succeed.
He was also grateful to Mr. Agbodza for “taking the shame away from the Council.”
Present were Madam Rita Naa Odorley Sowah, Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftancy and Religious Affairs, Regional and Constituency NDC executives and chiefs from the Traditional Area.
