Abura Dunkwa (C/R), Jan 5, GNA – The Chiefs and People of Abura Dunkwa in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District of the Central Region have launched their Odumkwa Festival, with special activities lined up for the festival from Friday, March 27 to Monday, April 06, 2026.
The activities include inter-quiz competition among schools, football gala, health screening, street carnival, cooking competition and a grand durbar to climax the celebration of the festival.
It will be celebrated on the theme: “Together We Rise: A Festival for Development and culture.”
Unveiling the festival, Nana Kojo Dadzie II, Guantuahene, who spoke on behalf Odikro Nana Owusu Koko II said the town had numerous tourists’ attractions that could be developed to transform the community.
He mentioned the Asorkwa and Bankasum sites as some of the potentials that could boost the economic activities of the town when developed.
The Guantuahene said the people of Abura Dunkwa were ready to share their rich cultural heritage with the rest of the world.
Mr Daniel Mensah Wardy, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the AAK, promised his unflinching support for the festival and the development of the town.
Dr Justice Alkofi-Harrison, Medical Superintendent at the Abura Dunkwa Hospital, said the facility was ready to serve the community during the festival which would attract a large crowd to the town.
He, however, appealed to the planning committee to add some staff of the hospital to the committee for them to better know the situation on the ground.
He promised to support the festival for Aburaman to thrive.
