Samira Bawumia’s track record makes her ideal First Lady material

Dambai (O/R), Dec 18, GNA – Madam Elizabeth Kesewaah Anim Adjornor, former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Jasikan Municipality in the Oti Region, has revealed that Hajia Samira Bawumia’s track record makes her the ideal candidate for Ghana’s First Lady.  

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), she said with over eight years as Second Lady, Hajia Samira Bawumia had transformed the role into a force for social change.  

According to the former MCE, Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects (SEHP) had driven impactful programmes, focusing on education, literacy and women’s economic empowerment.  

She again stated, library-in-a box and Samira Bawumia literature prize promoted reading culture, nurtured Ghana’s future thinkers and innovators.  

Madam Adjornor emphasized that Samira Bawumia had leveraged international platforms and advocated clean energy, women’s health and child welfare, forging vital partnerships.  

During the engagement with GNA, she emphasised that Samira’s interventions had real ripple effects, empowering women, strengthening families and stimulating local economies.  

She added that when Hajia Samira Bawumia had the nod at the helm as First Lady, Ghana stands to gain powerful advocacy for literacy, women’s empowerment, youth development and sustainable.
